Hurricane Beryl unfortunately closed some of the usual restaurants and bars, and a few older listings are no longer current. The good news is that Union Island is bouncing back: small local kitchens, beach restaurants and new places are opening with new tastes, fresh energy and the same friendly island spirit.

Sparrows Beach Club

Sparrows Beach Club on Big Sand Union Island Sparrows Beach Club is a higher-end beach club and restaurant on a beautiful beach. It is a good option for lunch, drinks and a relaxed beach afternoon.

Dinner should be reserved ahead, because they may not open at night without bookings.

Bougainvilla Restaurant & Bar

Bougainvilla Hotel and Marina restaurant in Clifton Union Island Bougainvilla is a comfortable waterfront restaurant and bar in Clifton, good for pizza, evening drinks and food by the water. It is one of the easier central places for visitors to find.

The evening setting by the marina is one of its strengths.

Just Right Restaurant

D-Swing

Local barbecue chicken on the grill for casual Union Island food D-Swing is useful for breakfast, sandwiches, local snacks and cheaper food. It is closed Sunday.

On Friday and Saturday evenings, it is also known for street BBQ chicken, usually until around 7pm.

Tenuta Chatham Bay Restaurant

Tenuta Chatham Bay restaurant on Union Island Tenuta Chatham Bay’s Calabash Restaurant is the more polished Chatham Bay option, with a beach resort setting, poolside bar, pizzeria and a sunset view over the bay.

It is a good choice when you want a more refined lunch, dinner or drink in Chatham Bay. Reservations may be needed for non-residents.

Happy Island

Happy Island is the famous small island bar and a good sunset drinks stop. It is mainly for drinks, not food.

The kite school can sometimes drop guests off for about 15 EC per person, and a local speed boat can bring you back.
