Organizations

Local organizations and volunteers helped Union Island through emergency relief and rebuilding after Hurricane Beryl. Today, most homes have been repaired, the airport is fully reopened, and the island is welcoming visitors again. This page points visitors toward work described in our Union Island recovery guide.

JT Foundation

The JT Foundation supports people on Union Island and across the Southern Grenadines. Its work includes emergency supplies, temporary shelter, repairs to homes and schools, free tool loans and tree replanting.

Read the foundation’s project descriptions to see the work carried out after Hurricane Beryl and the La Soufrière eruption. Its contact page has details for people who would like to volunteer, ask about a project or discuss support.

Supporting the island during your visit

Staying in local accommodation, eating at island restaurants and booking local taxis or boat trips helps families and small businesses. Confirm that a business or project is operating before planning a visit or arranging a delivery.
